Volunteer BC & BCACG Conference
2023 Event Highlights
17 speakers + 13 sessions = A SUCCESSFUL & REWARDING EVENT!
We re-connected, celebrated our successes, danced & laughed together – all in person!
On October 26 & 27, 2023 BC Association for Charitable Gaming (BCACG) & Volunteer BC hosted our annual 2 day conference for Non-profits, Charities & Volunteers. Thank you to all who participated and took time to learn, discuss, rethink and reimagine the big issues of the sector today.
Day 1 Highlights

Thanks to Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development and Non-Profits Megan Dykeman for starting off the 2023 Volunteer BC & BCACG Conference with a wonderful welcoming address and sharing what her government is doing to help the non-profit sector. This was followed by a warm welcome to Richmond from MLA Teresa Wat.
Mike Shaw kicked off the conference with an inspirational and motivational keynote about resilience and remaining grateful in the face of change and adversity. Attendees were so moved by his presentation that he almost sold out of his books during his book signing!

Day 2 Highlights

The second day of our conference started with an inspiring session with Maggie Stewart, who shared insider tips and tricks for building programs and plans that remain stable and adapt to change.
Delegates attended practical sessions on inclusivity and volunteerism; digital marketing tips and advocacy for non-profits. There were also plenty of opportunities to network and build connections with non-profit leaders from across BC.
